GESHER Overview

Beyond Borders Together

GESHER is a Hebrew word meaning “bridge.” Our name reflects our mission: to build bridges that unite businesses and people, sparking action and shaping the future together.

We envision a future Japan where “international” is the new standard—a place where collaboration flows naturally across borders, and where businesses of all backgrounds can expand their horizons through new perspectives.

To truly serve as that bridge, we believe we must remain a global company in both mindset and structure. Since our founding in 2020, we have placed a strong emphasis on diversity-driven organization building. Today, approximately 50% of our team members are foreign nationals, and we operate with international collaboration at the core of how we work, communicate, and grow.

Culture

Compensation & Performance Reviews

We use an MBO (Management by Objectives) system that emphasizes autonomy in goal setting. Performance reviews are conducted twice a year, providing opportunities for salary adjustments (as of August 2024). While some consideration is given to tenure, we place the highest priority on results and achievement against goals.

Promotion

Although it depends on the individual's wishes, results and ability are emphasized. Therefore, there is little of the Japanese culture where you can't get promoted just because you're young, or you can only get promoted because you're a senior.

Role Assignment

Roles are assigned with careful consideration of both individual aptitude and personal preference. As a venture company, some team members may take on multiple responsibilities across different areas.

GESHER Lunch (Team Meal Support System)

To encourage stronger relationships among team members, we provide financial support for team meals. (Program rules apply.)

Free Drinks & Lunch

A wide selection of beverages—from alcoholic drinks to soft drinks—is available free of charge. We also provide light meals and snacks (such as instant noodles), which employees are welcome to enjoy, subject to a few guidelines.

Flexible Dress Code

We have no rules regarding clothing or fashion. This has been our policy since the company’s founding, with the expectation that employees exercise personal responsibility.

CEO

Our greatest point of uniqueness—building an organization composed of multinational members—has been present since our founding in 2020, when I started the company on my own. The three employees who joined us in our founding year were Japanese, Swedish, and Hong Konger. This was not a coincidence; from the very beginning, we set out to build an organization with diversity as a given.

Today, in 2026, our headcount has grown, yet the proportion of non-Japanese employees remains exceptionally high by Japanese corporate standards. The foundation of our organization lies in diverse cultures, values, and the individuality of each person. We express this idea as TSUMIKI (wooden building blocks).

Rather than forcing everything into the same shape, we focus on how different shapes can be combined. Not unification, but editing and recomposition—this is how strong structures are built. What we aim for is not simply aligning ourselves to global norms (“global-less”). Instead, we seek to transcend borders with our own ideas, experiences, and cultures, and to make those the next standard.

Like TSUMIKI, by connecting people with people and cultures with cultures, we will continue to create new forms of organization that bridge Japan and the world.
